The Singer’s Musical Theater Anthology Series

The Singer’s Musical Theatre Anthology series, published by Hal Leonard corporation and edited by Richard Walters, is a marvelous addition to any singer’s library.

This series, categorized by voice type, is a treasure trove of Broadway musical selections to complement a classical singer’s study. Songs are hand-picked to be particularly good for the singing voice. The piano arrangements are well thought out. Many of these editions also include CD accompaniment – “ senza voce” (just the piano accompaniment) to help you in your study. They are ideal for programming into recitals and I never enter the teaching studio without several of these volumes on me.

With singerstickynotes.com, we are adding something still missing: real performances of these classics! Here’s the best Youtube has to offer of representative performances of each selection presented along with metronome, tonic pitch note, and “accompaniment-only” YouTube video files (especially needed in these COVID-19 times when we are all learning remotely). Most of these songs were hits when they were first performed. Learning should be easy and entertaining – so, enjoy!

This list is divided into groupings by voice type as follows:
